Organization Structure
Ministries are council positions and have specific responsibility area. Committees work within the ministries to design specifics and accomplish the myriad of details necessary to the ministry. Auxiliary groups such as Prime Timers, have been placed in a ministry so that they have a specific council representative that can bring their issues to council or communicate council ideas to them as needed. Where possible, these are placed in a Ministry that matches their goals.
Teaching Ministry - Responsible for seeing that the Word is taught to all ages
- Christian Education Committee - Deals with the specifics of Sunday School, VBS and other special education events.
Seeking Ministry - Reaches out to the un-churched and de-churched
- Outreach - Welcomes and encourages visitors, advertises, reaches out to those living in our area and teaches all of us to be evangelists
- WELCA - Independent women's group which includes the Cover Girls
- Men's Groups - Men's Prayer Breakfast Group
Gathering Ministry - Encourages social connections among members
- Fellowship - Organizes specific all-church social events
- Prime Timers - A social organization for those over 55
- 20/30 Somethings - A social group for the young adult members
Tending Ministry - Cares for all church property
- Building & Grounds - tends the maintenance and upgrading of the physical property.
- Media & Technology - tends the maintenance and upgrading of electronic and digital property.
Sharing Ministry - Manages the financial and talent resources of OSLC
- Stewardship - Encourages giving of time, talents and financial gifts
- Finance - Manages the budget process and oversees all financial assets
- Bell/Stafford Scholarship Committee - Manages the Endowment and makes appropriate awards.
Helping Ministry - Guides the congregation in helping those around the world that need aide.
- Social Ministry - Works within the Tri-Cities area to reach those in need
- Regional and Global Missions - Works to enlarge our knowledge of missionary fields and develop regular mission trips where needed
- Praising Ministry - Manages worship opportunities
- Worship and Music - oversees all aspects of both the traditional worship and Heartsong
Caring Ministry - Cares for members of OSLC
- Shepherding - Sees to needs of members and works to build relationships within the congregation
- Stephen Ministry - ministers one-to-one to members who have specific needs
Exploring Ministry - Help our youngest adults find their place in the community of faith
- LYO - Designs programs for those who have not graduated from High School
- Campus Ministry - Encourages Bible study and social activities among College students
Youth Representative - Provides a youthful voice on Council.
