Bereavement Meals
In 1997, the Social Ministry Committee started offering to prepare and serve a dinner for members who had a death in their immediate family. (Usually this offer is made if the funeral is at OSLC, but not always.)
How It Works
The offer is made to the family to prepare a meal for the family at the church. The family is encouraged to give us a number of people to be invited to the meal, and the committee asks members of the congregation to help with donations for the food, and the preparation and serving of the meal. Sometimes the family prefers to have the food brought to their home and we do that if that is their preference.
Please Help
We encourage members to sign up on Time and Talent sheets or call the committee member in charge if they are interested in helping with this ministry.
